Where is Connector 375 Located in the NG 9-3?

If you want to use a BT Changer Hands-Free system in your Saab NG 9-3, you should first check whether the factory phone connector (375) is available.

It can be checked using the VIN, but the most reliable method is to locate it physically. You’re looking for a black, 18-pin female connector. This connector is often wrapped in cloth electrical tape, so it may not be easy to find. In the 9-3 (LHD), it’s most easily found by removing the lower panel on the passenger side. From this position, it’s also easy to connect the BT Changer phone interface.

If you’ve searched everywhere and still can’t find the connector:

In that case, the car was most likely equipped from the factory with OnStar and/or a Telematics (factory-integrated phone – Tel2) system. To the best of my knowledge, all NG 9-3 models made for the US market were built this way. In such vehicles, the BT Changer will only function as a music player in plug-and-play mode — the hands-free (HF) feature is not available. While it is technically possible to enable HF functionality through significant modifications, this requires Saab-specific technical expertise.
