With the latest 2.6.6 update, the BT Changer v9 now supports the Clarion PU-9587AZ head unit together with the PU-2047A EQ/CD module. In this configuration, the BT Changer works exactly like a traditional CD changer. Both Clarion units are required, as the DIN-13 connector and the CD-changer control buttons are located on the EQ/CD module’s mounting frame.
Installation
Installation is straightforward: simply connect the BT Changer using the supplied special Clarion cable and it is ready to use. No special configuration is needed, as the wiring harness automatically selects the correct operating mode.
In Wi-Fi mode, the administration interface lets you adjust only the Bluetooth device name and optional audio volume compensation. Firmware updates for the BT Changer module can also be performed here. Due to system limitations, track metadata cannot be displayed, and hands-free calling is not supported.
Operation
Playback
- Press the CD (Play/STOP) button on the Clarion EQ/CD module to switch to Bluetooth mode.
- Playback starts or resumes automatically after powering on or after switching back from radio mode.
Pairing
- Press the CD (Play/STOP) button to enter Bluetooth mode.
- Press the DISK (Select) button until CD3 is selected to start pairing.
- Pair your phone with the BT Changer.
- Once paired, it is immediately ready for music playback.
Administration (Wi-Fi mode)
- Press the CD (Play/STOP) button to enter Bluetooth mode.
- Press the DISK (Select) button until CD6 is selected to access the Wi-Fi admin interface.
- On your phone, select the BT Changer Wi-Fi network (password: 12345678).
- Most phones will automatically open the admin page.
- To exit, simply press the restart button.
- After restarting, the BT Changer automatically returns to Bluetooth mode.
Important Notes
- Both units are installed in special active mounting frames:
– The Clarion PU-9587AZ radio/cassette module is mounted in an EU-921A frame (part no. 4083036).
– The Clarion PU-2047A EQ/CD module is mounted in an HBM-021 frame (part no. 4083044). - The BT Changer has been tested with this exact configuration, but it may also work with other setups (for example, using only the EQ module), as long as the necessary connections and control functions are available.
